EDGE: Sustainability

Who qualifies

• Must be registered in Singapore.
• Business must be registered and operating in Singapore.
• At least 30% ownership, direct or indirect, by Singapore Citizens and/or PRs, determined by ultimate individual ownership.
• Sustainability Strategy Development: company must not have previously developed/published a sustainability report or be subject to ACRA/SGX mandatory climate reporting requirements.
• Sustainable Product / Service Development: no previous grant application for any part; clear sustainability-related advancement, competitive advantage and growth objectives, and actual prototype/small-batch development are required. First company product is excluded, but existing businesses pivoting to sustainability may be considered for their first sustainable product/service.
• Resource Management & Optimisation; Sustainability Services; Sustainability Strategy Development: Project must be completed within 12 months from date of approval
• Areas of support, choose one option and complete all its areas in full: Resource Management & Optimisation (A advisory; B implementation, i.e. procurement and/or customisation of hardware or software; C both) and Sustainability Strategy Development (A strategy; B strategy plus sustainability report; C strategy, report and assurance of the report). Sustainability Services is ESG data measurement and scoring (software costs). Costs incurred from date of application are covered upon approval for the first three activities.
• Sustainable Product / Service Development does not support: costs of capital investment outside Singapore; costs of developing a first product; technology, equipment or software below industry norms (routine replacements, standard implementations, incremental upgrades) unless part of a larger integrated system with clear advancement; GST.
• Minimum local shareholding (%): 30.

What it funds

• Energy efficiency, decarbonisation, green certification, waste reduction

Costs covered: Software licences and SaaS; Hardware, machinery, IT equipment; Third-party consultant or professional service fees.

Maximum support: up to 70%.

Recorded cap: S$100,000.

Payment: Paid after the company incurs the cost and files a claim.

How to apply

Choose an open activity, prepare its required documents and vendor proposal, and apply through BGP using company Corppass. Accept the Letter of Offer, complete its deliverables, then submit the claim on BGP.

1. Select an open activity and prepare its application documents and suitable vendor proposal.
2. Submit on BGP using company Corppass; third parties must not apply or manage the grant on the company’s behalf.
3. Accept the Letter of Offer and complete the approved project and deliverables.
4. Set up PayNow Corporate or GIRO, prepare payment and deliverables evidence, engage an auditor where required, and submit the claim on BGP.

Claiming support

Pay all approved expenses in full, complete the Letter of Offer deliverables and submit the claim on BGP. Keep eligibility through claim submission. Provide expense verification and deliverables documents; foreign-language evidence needs an English translation. Disbursement after claim approval: PayNow Corporate within 14 working days, GIRO up to eight weeks. Auditor required for Sustainable Product / Service Development: engage an EnterpriseSG panel auditor, sign the engagement letter before submitting, and submit within 14 working days of signing. Pay the auditor promptly; assessment follows completion of the audit.
